Agile Teams Journey: 5. The Evolution Phase

Agile Teams Journey - Part 5: The Evolution Phase

Agile Teams Journey series: In part four we discussed the actual release of your product, and how all the time, effort, and collaboration between teams and the client created a seamless and effective launch experience.

If you’re just tuning in, feel free to catch up by reading part 1 – the discovery phase.

Now, as we’re on the precipice of completing our Agile Teams Journey series, we’ll be discussing the evolution phase, which is intended to be a continuous, iterative process of fine-tuning and making your product the best it can be.

This final phase has two main components: identifying opportunities for the client and co-creating a new business solution with the client. Let’s dive in.

Identifying Opportunities for the Client

Measure the solution performance through data

The business solution has already been created and has a certain time of being implemented. Data and metrics allow both the Client and the Development team to make adjustments and better decisions moving forward.

Projects and solutions vary in sizes and industry sectors. Nevertheless, most of them have something in common: data as a key decision-making process input.

Business intelligence (BI) efforts are applied in collecting, storing, and analyzing the data produced by a solution´s activities, including data mining, process analysis and performance benchmarking, most seen WillDom’s retail and e-commerce clients.

Big data refers to data sets that are too large or complex to be dealt with by traditional data-processing application software. WillDom’s clients currently working with big data include banking, healthcare, and telcos.

Identify what is working and what’s not

Rolling out a new digital solution, originally intended to unlock business value through technology, for external or internal clients to the organization, brings insightful insights and new inputs to the stakeholders in terms of discovering new needs and detecting the gaps between business and technology. These gaps apply both to the existing solution and ways to improve it or may be new gaps and new solutions are to be built.

This approach allows organizations to successfully keep up with technology change, by enabling teams across a business with processes to evaluate new technology and handle rapid change in their business through the existing processes, practices, culture and organizational structure.

The ultimate goal of WillDom´s Agile Team Journey is to help our clients successfully improve their business through a holistic digital co-creation approach.

Co-creating New Business Solutions with the Client

Digital technology integration into all areas of the business

Positive digital solutions implementations have a direct impact on how the client operates and the value delivered to internal and/or external customers.

WillDom’s consulting approach searches not only for the best technology to use but also looks into the people, organization structure, and culture the client has in order to implement new solutions and unlock business value faster.

This can be seen in one of WillDom’s latest projects involving a top tier luxury retail client that started with a very specific initial scope of updating their eCommerce platform but evolved into a data service with a specialized data team helping them organize and manage their data in order to make more informed decisions.

This is an ongoing co-creation process between different teams from the client and WillDom side covering different business challenges.
